Current Positions.

Title Description
PresidentThe President is the Chief Executive Officer of the Chapter.
  • Subject to approval of the Executive Board of Directors, the President is responsible for the general supervision, direction and control of the affairs of the Chapter.
  • If the position of Director of Education is vacant, the President either recruits a new director or assumes the duties.
Vice-PresidentThe Vice-President works closely with the President to ensure Chapter objectives are achieved.
  • In the absence of the President, the Vice-President assumes all duties and responsibilities of the President.
  • If the position of Director of Operations is vacant, the Vice-President either recruits a new director or assumes the duties.
VP Chapter RelationsThe VP of Chapter Relations ensures Chapter processes proceed as planned. The VP of Chapter Relations ensures Executive Directors are all working together to achieve goals.
  • The VP of Chapter Relations is responsible for organizing and coordinating the Chapter.
  • Ensure a schedule of meetings and events for the calendar year is establish and maintained.
  • Define the responsibilities and duties for each leadership position.
  • Ensure correspondence and communications are efficiently and effectively managed.
  • If the position of Director of Communications is vacant, the VP of Chapter Relations either recruits a new director or assumes the duties.
TreasurerThe Treasurer is the custodian of Chapter funds and keeps an itemized account of all receipts, expenditures and deposits.
  • The Treasurer supervises the collection of all funds and ensures that sound accounting practices are followed.
  • The Treasurer is responsible for balancing the monthly bank statement, maintaining copies of all checks and retaining supporting documentation.
  • If the position of Director of Resources is vacant, the Treasurer either recruits a new director or assumes the duties.
Director of EducationThe Director of Education manages the tasks and positions relating to planning, development and presentation of security awareness, training and education materials.
  • Acts as the focal point for security training, education and certification.
  • Helps Chapter members obtain professional training, education and certification.
  • Maintains a balance in the marketing messages being delivered to the Chapter during vendor presentations.
Planning ManagerThe Planning Manager acts as the focal point for planning events for the year.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate security training, education courses and seminars.
Development ManagerThe Development Manager develops materials into courseware. Once a course is planned, materials will need to be developed and copies provided to attendees.
  • Develops, collects and organizes security training, education and other materials.
  • Acts as the focal point for security training, education and certification materials offered by the Chapter.
Scheduling ManagerThe Scheduling Manager provides security training and education information to Chapter members in a timely fashion. Once a course is planned, the scheduling manager acts as a focal point for information. Students, instructors, places, dates, times and materials must be brought together to have a successful course.
  • Act as the focal point for course information.
  • Coordinate training and testing dates, times and locations.
RegistrarThe Registrar maintains the status of all members and non-members who sign-up or RSVP for events.
  • Document member credit hours for use as CPEs, CEUs or other professional certification use.
Forums ManagerThe Forums Manager manages content posted and access to forums on the web site.
  • Acts as focal point for activity on web site forums.
  • Decides the look and feel of Chapter forums.
  • Ensures at least one individual is designated to moderate each forum.
  • Moderates forum access and content.
Forum ModeratorAssists the Forums Manager to moderate content and control access in forums.
  • Moderate assigned forum for content.
  • Has approval/disapproval authority over content in assigned forum.
InstructorAssists the Director of Education by teaching courses or presenting seminars.
  • Prepare for courses and seminars.
Director of OperationsThe Director of Operations manages tasks and positions relating to general operations of the Chapter.
  • Act as the focal point for operations.
  • Ensure Chapter events and functions operate smoothly.
Events ManagerThe Events Manager coordinates Chapter activities to deliver information security seminars, conferences, symposia and other events.
  • Works with the sponsors to organize presentations at each meeting on a rotating basis.
  • Organizes conferences and special events.
  • Co-Chairs the Symposium Committee - coordinating locations, dates and times.
Engineering ManagerThe Engineering Manager develops and maintains technology for Chapter members.
  • Responsible for the ongoing design, support and maintenance of the Chapter web site - including posting up-to-date facts, schedules and announcements of all Chapter activities.
Recording SecretaryThe Recording Secretary prepares official records of the Chapter.
  • Keeps minutes of all meetings and records the results of all votes.
  • Maintain Chapter files for the current year.
Liaisons ManagerThe Liaisons Manager coordinates relationships with other organizations.
  • Develop relationships between the Chapter and other organizations.
  • Encourage other organizations to contact Chapter members for public speaking opportunities.
Policy ManagerThe Policy Manager develops policies and procedures that provide guidance and establish quality control over the general operations of the Chapter.
  • Promote an overall message of quality control, and to promote the expansion of the organizations capability maturity model through promotion of best practices and refined CBK implementations.
  • Review current business practice and ensures compliance with all approved procedures.
  • Reinforce directives by providing enforceable policies and auditable procedures.
  • Recommend policies and procedures for adoption by the Chapter.
  • Provide quality control over all projects adopted by the board of directors.
  • Assist the Board of Directors to develop internal operations manuals.
  • Promote continuous process improvement through best practices and refined procedures.
Telecom CoordinatorAssists the Director of Communications by providing and coordinating teleconference capabilities.
Director of CommunicationsThe Director of Communications manages the tasks and positions relating to general communications of the Chapter.
  • Ensures Chapter members are informed of events and opportunities.
  • Acts as focal point for official correspondence and other communications.
  • Ensures web site content is up-to-date.
Marketing ManagerThe Marketing Manager acts as the interface between the Chapter and sponsors for any issues or questions that may arise.
  • Ensure sponsorship information is current and shared with all executives, directors and managers.
  • Ensure sponsor information is correct on the Chapter web site.
  • Coordinate Chapter sponsor benefits.
  • Coordinate process for new sponsors.
  • Works on the Symposium committee, coordinating sponsors, partners and vendors.
Public Relations ManagerThe Public Relations Manager promotes Chapter events and coordinates information released to the public.
  • Acts as Chapter spokesperson to the public.
  • Promote awareness of the Chapter through media and supporting materials.
  • Reinforce a positive impression of the Chapter among current and prospective members.
  • Convey the overall message that the Chapter offers a professional service organization that has value.
Newsletter EditorThe Newsletter Editor develops, edits and distributes a periodic Chapter newsletter.
  • Publication of the Chapter newsletter.
  • Solicit articles from members and coordinates job functions for a newsletter staff.
  • Coordinate newsletter topics with the topics of scheduled events.
Corresponding SecretaryThe Corresponding Secretary coordinates official Chapter correspondence.
  • Maintain contact data, including electronic and surface mailing addresses, telephone numbers, organization and title information.
  • Maintain contact information for all directors, members, sponsors, partners and other organizations.
  • Maintains all e-mail and electronic distribution lists.
  • Maintain a list of members who request printed newsletters.
  • Resolve issues related to contact information.
Scheduling SecretaryThe Scheduling Secretary maintains a Chapter calendar of events.
  • Maintain Chapter calendar.
Director of ResourcesThe Director of Resources manages the tasks and positions relating to general resources available to the Chapter.
  • Ensures the Chapter has resources available to conduct business.
Membership ManagerThe Membership Manager maintains the status of all members, current and former.
  • Maintain membership data of current members and assist potential new members.
Logistics ManagerThe Logistics Manager organizes locations and ensures materials and supplies are available.
  • Ensures Chapter assets are maintained, delivered to events, setup, recovered and securely stored.
  • Maintains an inventory of all Chapter-owned equipment.
LibrarianThe Librarian solicits materials from members and makes articles, books and media available to members.
  • Develop and maintain the Chapter Library.
HistorianThe Historian maintains the official history of the Chapter.
  • Maintains Chapter archives.
  • Maintains the officially approved and signed version of the Chapter Bylaws.
  • Acts as Chapter Parliamentarian.
AuditorThe Auditor audits all financial, attendance and continuing professional education credit records.
  • Ensures sound accounting practices are followed.
Facility CoordinatorAssists the Logistics Manager by coordinating facility use. Works with the owners of facilities to ensure space is authorized for Chapter use.
Symposium CommitteeThe Symposium Committee plans, organizes and conducts the annual Chapter symposium.
Bylaws CommitteeThe Bylaws Committee reviews all proposed changes to the Bylaws, presents proposals to the Chapter for votes, and prepares updated Bylaws.
Elections CommitteeThe Elections Committee conducts all elections, including nominations for elections, and conducts all votes regarding changes to the Bylaws.
Audits CommitteeThe Audits Committee conducts audits of all accounts, including financial and educational credit, as described in Finance, Audit and Liability.
Fund Raising CommitteeThe Fund-Raising Committee acquires services and merchandise for the purpose of raising funds for the Chapter.
Engineering CommitteeThe Engineering Committee manages content on the Chapter web site and plans technical services in support of the Chapter.
Planning CommitteeThe Planning Committee prepares and maintains a plan of operations for the calendar year. This includes meetings, milestones, seminars, special events and resource requirements.
Budget CommitteeThe Budget Committee prepares and maintains a financial plan for the calendar year. This includes revenues and expenditures.
Professional Development CommitteeThe Professional Development Committee prepares and maintains educational content for presentation to Chapter members. This includes courseware, courses and assignment of continuing professional education credits.
Director-At-LargeDirectors-At-Large are directors of the Board who have no assigned position, but perform duties as required.
Sergeant-at-ArmsThe Chair may appoint a Sergeant-at-Arms to preserve order and execute commands of the Chair at any Chapter function.
Disaster Exercise TeamPlans and organizes a mock disaster exercise.
Securty Lab TeamPlans and organizes a security test lab.
Software LibrarianAssists the Librarian by collecting, organizing and documenting software and making files available to members.
  • Develop and maintain the Chapter Software Library.
  • Ensure all software is documented and licensed.
Web MasterThe Web Master is responsible for web page format, look and feel, as well as overall administration of the site.
Post MasterThe Post Master is responsible for maintaining both group and individual e-mail requirements.
Asst., Director of OperationsAssists the Director of Operations.
