About the ISSA
The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) is an international organization that provides educational forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities to enhance the knowledge, skills and professional growth of its members - information security professionals. The primary goal of ISSA is to promote management practices that will ensure availability, integrity and confidentiality of information systems.
Since its inception in 1982, ISSA's membership continues to grow with information security professionals who represent a diverse collection of organizations, including major U.S. and international corporations, leading consulting firms, world class educational institutions and government agencies. From EDP audit and corporate security to contingency planning and disaster recovery, ISSA members are committed to protecting their organization's assets and resources.
About the Chapter
Established in 1989, the Sacramento Valley Chapter consists of members from both the public and private sectors who receive the benefit of learning and sharing knowledge about information systems security. Meetings are held each month on the third Thursday and second Tuesday. The Chapter puts on an Information Security Symposium and collaborates with associations around the state as Partners in Learning. If you want to know what's going on this month, check out our calendar. If you want to know what happened last month, check out our newsletter. We try to keep up with the times, but there's so much happening in security that it's tough to keep track.
